Introduction

Now based at Portland Marina adjacent to the former Royal Navy port of Portland Harbour, ProTeez is immersed in an environment on Portland Island which has been part of British Coastal Security and Safety for many Centuries. This provenance, combined with ProTeez’ deep experience in Coastal Security and its associated Safety makes an explicit backdrop for an independent consultancy company specialising in the very same i.e. Protection of the EEZ - hence ProTeez.

Background

Since its formation in 2004, ProTeez has worked globally advising on Waterspace Management issues and other UNCLOS related management matters. ProTeez uses its inherent knowledge to provide Consultancy advice in the Coastal and EEZ Environment; to run Live Capability Demonstrations; to provide and run Table Top Tactical Demonstrations. Although based in the UK, ProTeez also works closely with associates in the Middle East, Far East and Africa. As a matter of policy, ProTeez does not supply security personnel or weapons.

Live Capability Demonstrations

ProTeez is very active in organising Live Programmes based around the south coast of England. These are run both ashore and afloat (usually between the Needles and Portland Bill), using a combination of ProTeez assets or using those provided by the client and/or third parties. Typically these are Capability Demonstrations to showcase or trial equipment, or are Live Exercises to improve operational efficiency. ProTeez can provide commensurately qualified personnel such as Coxswains, Crew and Commercial Divers for the client. Similarly, at our client’s request, we can provide: appropriately coded Vessels; Helicopters and UAVs; Surveillance and C2 equipment; and supporting communications equipment.     

Table Top Tactical Demonstrators

ProTeez designs and supplies Tactical Table Top Demonstrators (TTTDs) for use in exhibitions, workshops and classrooms for tactical discussions and to test operational efficiency and resilience. The TTTDs come with Boards on which to run a Scenario, Pop-Up Stands showing Issues to be countered and Models of vessels and port facilities to enhance the Scenario. To support the TTTD, ProTeez can write bespoke Scripts which can be enacted by the client or by ProTeez.

Advice and Consultancy

An Executive Committee Member of the United Kingdom’s EEZ Industry Group, ProTeez also continues to conduct lectures at the Royal Navy’s Warfare School on EEZ Management and its Protection.

Advice is provided to Governments appertaining to Coastal Security; Asset Protection (including Fisheries Protection & Management); Anti-Piracy Operations; and Safety of Navigation.
